About Us

       Write for Life was conceived in early 2022, after a writing organization we administrators enjoyed came out in support of abortion. Compelled by conscience and upset by the idea that something we loved could be connected to abortion, we came together and commiserated with each other over the loss. Almost right away, several of us suggested creating a pro-life alternative, and because none of us do anything by halves, the idea immediately took flight. Working together, we began to lay the foundation for Write for Life. First came a Twitter page, where we spread the word to likeminded writers. Then, we created a Discord server where everyone could come together and create a community — the importance of which cannot be underestimated for writers. In August of 2022, we ran our first writing challenge. In October, we created Operation: Octyper, a secret agent themed writing challenge that gave people a chance to have fun, connect with other writers, and write so many words. At the request of our awesome members, we created a third challenge to run over the winter — February Fables!

       Write for Life isn’t going anywhere. We’re so excited to see it grow, and we pray we will be able to bring fun and friendship to as many writers as possible, all while honoring the fundamental truth that every life — from conception onward — is precious.
